Empathy in various forms keep coming for victim of earthquake in Lombok. One of those are coming through online fundraising.
JAKARTA, Indonesia, Aug. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on fundraising website from Indonesia, kitabisa.com reported that not less than 272 pages of online fundraising were made for Lombok earthquake victims. The initiative came from a lot of parties and reached not less than 10 billion rupiah.
One of the initiative came from the Mayor of Bandung, who was also elected governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil. Ridwan who was noted for having 8.5 million followers (on August 23, 2018) on his Instagram invited all Netizens to sympathize with the victims of earthquake in Lombok by donating. Less than four days of the fund raising, the funds reached 1 billion rupiah. First stage of fund distribution had been given by Ridwan to Governor of West Nusa Tenggara, Tuan Guru Bajang.
A sad story came from the volunteers of Nusantara Sehat as well. Even A number of volunteers who were dispatched to help with recovery of the earthquake victims in Lombok became victim of the earthquake. Official residence of Nusantara Sehat in Lombok also became flat on the ground. Sympathy also keeps coming, until this day, the fundraising that was initiated has reached 131.701.413 rupiah.
Data by National Disaster Management Agencies (BNPB) on August 21, 2018 noted that the death toll reached 515 people, injured victims amounted to 7145, the number of fled from their homes even reached 431.416. A number of buildings and infrastructure were damaged as well. Not less than 400 buildings were categorized as heavily damaged. Losses due to the earthquake were estimated at 7.45 trillion rupiah.
