SEOUL, South Korea, Sept. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Hanwoo beef will sweep Hong Kong this October.
The Hanwoo Board announced that it will host Hanwoo Festival Week in Hong Kong for ten days from October 12 to October 21 in celebration of the month of Korean culture, "rolling up their sleeves" to promote Hanwoo beef.
As the first large-scale event since 2015 when Hanwoo beef was first exported to Hong Kong, it will provide special opportunities for Hong Kong consumers to meet and taste Korean Hanwoo beef.
Hanwoo beef mobile pop-up truck stores will be operated in major districts from October 12 to October 14. Hitting the downtown where young adults are gathered such as Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, and Mongkok, it aims to gain popularity for Hanwoo by providing opportunities for tasting Hanwoo beef, performing quiz show, displaying promotional video, and distributing leaflets.
Hanwoo beef booth will open at Hong Kong K-food Fair 2018 from October 17 to October 19. K-food fair, held at Piazza Square HK Culture Centre, is an exhibition centered on supporting Korean agricultural and livestock product exports and 15 promotional booths will be set up.
Hanwoo beef booth, the epitome of this event, will hold Korean beef cuisine show, Hanwoo beef tasting, and Hanwoo beef exhibition to grab attention from Hong Kong residents. Many visitors are expected to attend the K-food fair with performance by popular Korean girl band, Mamamoo.
Hanwoo beef restaurants will promote a diverse range of events for customers who eat Hanwoo beef or buy them during the entire event. When customers visit restaurants such as Marbling, Myung Ga, MeokBang Korean BBQ & Bar, and Kim's Spoon, they will receive special services for ordering special menu and receiving prizes.
In addition to this upcoming event, the board will open a promotional booth to present Hanwoo beef cuisinary events, and provide Hanwoo beef cuisines in an international night show sponsored by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hong Kong on October 12.
During the festival week, quiz event will be held for participants and various gifts are prepared for visitors, such as Hanwoo gift set, beef-shaped piggy bank, and Hanwoo beef jerky.
From early October, advertisements for promoting this large-scale festival will be posted on bus, subway, and electronic boards in major districts. Hong Kong residents will see Hanwoo beef at every nook and corner of life in October.
Min Gyung-cheon, a management head of the board, said, "This huge event was prepared for Hong Kong people to taste Korean premium beef and enjoy it, celebrating the month of Korean culture." He added, "The awareness of Hanwoo beef will be raised and consumption will be increased, and exports will be fostered thanks to this event."
