Harbin Electric Postpones 2009 Annual Stockholder's Meeting From 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM Beijing Time on August 20, 2009

HARBIN, China, Aug. 20 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Harbin Electric, Inc. ("Harbin Electric" or the "Company," Nasdaq: HRBN), a leading developer and manufacturer of a wide array of electric motors in the People's Republic of China, has announced that it is postponing its 2009 annual meeting of stockholders ("Annual Meeting") originally scheduled for 8:30 AM Beijing time on August 20, 2009 to 1:30 PM Beijing time on August 20, 2009, due to inclement weather that has prevented a majority of the Board of Directors of the Company from arriving at the meeting by the originally scheduled time.

The Location of the Annual Meeting remains at No.28 Zhang Jia Chan Town Base, Wendeng, Weihai City, Shandong Province, China 264407.
