Hitachi Elevator has been paying close attention to market trends and developing products and services that fully cover the sector. The MCA-ES smart elevator embraces the 5G era with a platform-based design, achieves overall interconnection with an open platform, and provides a more comfortable elevator ride experience alongside better customized and personalized services by incorporating an advanced intelligent control technology.

"Statistics show that safety is the leading concern for 90% of elevator passengers." According to Hitachi Elevator chief engineer Liang Dongming, for the safety issues that raise the most concerns, MCA-ES has obtained the safety integrity level (SIL) 3 certification, and features a more comprehensive functional and good big data processing capability.

With a tolerance in the elevator's vertical position when stationary of +/-0.1 mm, MCA-ES can achieve a higher level of speed and position control, ensuring the elevator's ability of high level accuracy on each floor despite building shrinkage, settlement and climate change, among other factors, vastly reducing the likelihood of a passenger tripping and falling due to the elevator not lining up perfectly with the ground of the floor at which the elevator has stopped. Passengers can easily enter and exit the elevator when pushing a cart.

The elevator comes with a remote monitoring device which can collect elevator operation data 24 hours a day. Through AI pre-diagnosis, the big data center can analyze more than 600 sets of elevator-related data in the pre-diagnosis stage, so that maintenance can be completed before a failure occurs. "We are working with the Nanjing Municipal Government to promote the on-demand service pilot project. Using the AI pre-diagnosis service, elevator abnormalities have decreased by 65%," said Mr. Liang.

According to data from Qianzhan Industry Research Institute, China's smart building market will reach 640 billion yuan by 2020. With a focus on the development of smart buildings, Hitachi Elevator has, for many years, been committed to building Internet of Things solutions, while leveraging its own experience in smart cities and smart buildings to promote the development of smart buildings in China.
