Sunway College A-Level Students Achieve Top Scores

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Aug. 31, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- A total of 336 students were honoured at the recent Cambridge International Examinations A-Level High Achievers Award Ceremony at Sunway College. Over 150 students together with their parents and family members attended the award ceremony which recognised the effort and achievement for the cohort.

With 671 students passing the June 2019 exam, the cohort celebrated a 100% pass. Of the entire cohort, 50.1% achieved straight As (3As and above). Offers to pursue undergraduate programmes from University of Cambridge have been received by Chew Tze Lin, Kimberly Tan, Lau Sau Jee, Low Han You and Marcus Ho. Marcus is the only Malaysian who has been offered to pursue Medicine in King's College and Chee Gee Ren has received an offer from University of Oxford while Tee Sherru has received an offer from University of Malaya.

Sunway College students have also received offers from other world class universities around the world including Imperial College London, London School of Economics and Political Science, University College London, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Nanyang Technological University, National University of Singapore, University of Cornell, Tsinghua University and Peking University.

Chee Gee Ren scored 4A* for Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Economics and Physics. Chee believes he would not have made it if not for the help of his lecturers and friends. Chee has received an offer from University of Oxford to pursue a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at The Queen's College. He will be starting his new journey at Oxford this October.

Chew Tze Lin scored 4A* in Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics and Further Mathematics. She is furthering her studies in Mathematical Tripos at Homerton College, University of Cambridge. Chew has a deep interest in mathematics and enjoys tutoring her sister and cousins while waiting to go study abroad. Joining mathematics competitions has become a norm for Chew during her free time. 

While Tee Sherru who obtained 4A* for Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry will be studying Medicine at University of Malaya. Felicia Chong Jeng Eu, a straight A* scorer in Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, was pleased to have received a full scholarship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and University College Dublin Malaysia Campus (UCD). She aims to specialise as a Cardiologist.

Sunway College has been offering the Cambridge GCE A-Level Programme for over two decades. Over the years, Sunway College A-Level programme students have been consistently obtaining a 100% passes in the Cambridge International Examinations. This year is the 12^th time since year 2010, Sunway College students achieve 100% pass. Tea parties, gatherings and award ceremonies like this have since become an A-Level tradition in celebrating students' success and achievement.
