ASE to Acquire EEMS Test Singapore from EEMS

    TAIPEI, Taiwan, Aug. 2 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, Inc. (TAIEX: 2311; NYSE: ASX) (hereinafter "ASE", or the "Company") announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement ("Sale and Purchase Agreement") with EEMS Asia Pte Ltd. ("EEMS Asia"), a subsidiary of EEMS Italia S.p.A, pursuant to which ASE has agreed, subject to the terms of the Sale and Purchase Agreement, to acquire 100% interest in EEMS Test Singapore Pte Ltd. ("EEMS Test Singapore") for an enterprise value of approximately US$67.7 million.
