Huaneng Power International, Inc. Announces 2011 First Three Quarters Results

BEIJING, October 25, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Huaneng Power International, Inc. (the "Company") (NYSE: HNP; HKEx: 902; SSE: 600011) today announced its unaudited results for the nine months ended September 30, 2011.

Under the PRC GAAP, the Company realized consolidated operating revenue of RMB99.811 billion for the first three quarters of 2011, representing an increase of 29.98% over the same period last year. Consolidated net profit attributable to the shareholders of the Company was RMB1.410 billion, representing a decrease of 55.17% over the same period last year. The decrease was mainly due to the increase of fuel prices and the increase of interest rate of RMB borrowings.
