SHENZHEN, China, October 27, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The China Cup sailing regatta will be held in the racing venue of Shenzhen Summer Universiade from 28th to 31st of October. As a world famous boat builder, SHANGHAI FAR EAST FRP BOAT CO., LTD will supply 10 sets of their FAR EAST 26 level boat.
Inaugurated in 2007, the China Cup International Regatta is the first-ever and only big boat sailing regatta initiated by China. Approved by the General Administration of Sport of China, the regatta is held annually and each year it attracts over 60 boats with 600 sailors of more than 20 nationalities to compete in the event, gaining wide attention from the sailing community and international media.
In 2010, 6 pcs FAR EAST 26 first set sail at the China Cup, and made a strong debut in the 4th China Cup. Based on last year's success and experience, Shanghai Far East is confident to make the 5th China Cup better and more professional while at the same time staying committed to promoting the sport of sailing and a nautical lifestyle in China. The 10 FAR EAST 26 sailing teams come from Singapore, Japan, China, Hong Kong and Australia.
FAR EAST 26 is built by SHANGHAI FAR EAST Company. SHANGHAI FAR EAST was founded in 2002. The headquarters is located in Shanghai. The boat yard is in Jiangsu Province, 150km north of Shanghai city center. The company owns more than 150 experienced boat building craftsmen. The boat yard is 20,000 square meters. Annual product capability has hit 10,000 pcs boats and their network has spread all around the world.

FAR EAST 26 is designed by Simonis Voogd Design. Simonis Voogd Design is an international Naval Architectural and Yacht Design studio with 26 years of experience and over 200 successfully completed projects ranging from the modest Hobie 13 (1983) to the most extravagant mega maxi's such as "Nicorette II and III" (90ft, 2000 and 2004) and "Les Folies" (85ft, 1999). Simonis Voogd Design has offices in Enkhuizen in the Netherlands and in Cape Town in South Africa.
The boat comes fitted with North Sail, Harken deck gear and Selden spar. The hull is GRP and the keel has a lead bulb. The sail plan uses a symmetrical spinnaker, furling system and features and adjustable backstay. All halyards run aft and two small winches control the running rigging. The Saloon has four bunks, standing headroom and a galley area, a closing toilet compartment with removable chemical toilets is included as well. Interior bulkhead, table, deck floor and toilet wall are made by epoxy infusion technology. It is waterproof and will not bend, twist or become out of shape after a long time in a humid situation. The good design with good building technology give the boat top sailing performance.
