SAIC, Inc. (NYSE:SAI): For the second quarter of fiscal year 2013 ended July 31, 2012, SAIC, Inc. (NYSE:SAI) reported revenues were US$2.85 billion, compared with revenues of US$2.60 billion in the same quarter of fiscal 2012, an increase of 10%. Operating income for the quarter was reduced by 9% to US$191 million, from US$209 million a year earlier. In a separate press release announced on August 30, SAIC said it intends to separate the company into two independent, publicly traded companies. The spin-off is expected to occur in the second half of next fiscal year, subject to final approval of the Board of Directors. Following the news, shares of SAIC advanced over 3.39% to US$12.21 in the last trading session. There were 15.35 million stock shares traded, which was 4.9 times more than average volume. The scientific, engineering, and technology applications company has a market capitalization of US$4.17 billion.
