Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS): Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) and its partners, Chinese private equity firm Fountainvest Partners and Asia-based private equity firm Olympus Capital last month invested US$150 million in Zhaoheng Hydropower, China's largest small hydropower focused operator. The three firms also invested US$150 million in Zhaoheng Hydropower in December 2010. Zhaoheng intends to use the fund to acquire hydropower plants and exceed one gigawatt of operating capacity over the next two years, from more than 650 megawatts now. According to a statement from James Chern, a Hong Kong-based Executive Director at the fund, Zhaoheng Hydropower was the first investment in China by the Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Fund. At the close of the trading day, shares of Morgan Stanley advanced 1.10% to US$15.68 on over 31.34 million shares, well above its usual volume of 18.95 million shares.
