HONG KONG, Feb. 22 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Abas Business Solutions (PRC) Ltd. announced today that it was awarded the Caring Company Logo at the Caring Company Recognition Ceremony 2007/2008 on February 21. The award recognises Abas’ commitment to good corporate citizenship. Abas was awarded based on its ability to satisfy the criteria of Volunteering, Employee Friendly, Caring for the Environment and Mentoring. The ceremony was organised by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS).
The award recognises Abas’ care for social service sectors and its devotion to community activities. Abas staff and customers are very proud of it. Mr. Vincent Lau, Chief Operating Officer of Abas said, "We are pleased to be awarded the Caring Company Logo by HKCSS. The award goes to everyone in Abas. It’s not only the honor of the company, but also the achievement of all our employees."
Abas has encouraged and supported volunteering among its employees and provided staff with a family-friendly working environment for the past year. For example, paid leave was offered to the employees who participated in voluntary activities or those who had to deal with special private issues. Abas has also supported environmental protection and encouraged employees to take measures such as two-side printing. Also, the company has encouraged employees to share their experiences in information technology and e-Business with the public.
As an IT company, Abas has spent most of its time in IT information sharing. Since 2004, Abas has cooperated with non-profit organizations in this area. Partner associations include Hong Kong Productivity Council and Manufacturing Enterprise Integration & Innovation Association. Several seminars covering different topics were held and attracted many attendees. Abas did not only sponsor the events, but also had its employees prepared and presented in the seminars to benefit the attendees.
Abas also extended its care to tertiary institutions. In 2006, Abas donated a set of ERP system (valued HK$1,000,000) to the City University of Hong Kong (City U). It also sent professional consultants to offer a "Linux ERP" course in the School of Business of City U to give lectures on knowledge and application of Abas ERP. The consultants spent much of their personal time on lectures preparation and gave corporate examples in class. The course was so popular that it was offered again in 2007.
As one the awardees of Caring Company Logo 2007/2008, Abas will continue to be socially responsible and give more care to the community.
