BEIJING, June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Beijing Bihua Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd., (Bihua), the first company in China to explore and develop nano photocatalyst technology, announced that it has successfully applied the technology to its indoor and outdoor air purification products. Products developed using the technology have demonstrated excellent results in terms of their antibacterial and antifungal properties as well as their air purification, pollution prevention and self-cleaning capabilities. The world leading technology has received a patent from the Chinese government and the products that are manufactured as a result of the technology have proven to be among the most performing in terms of air purification.

Bihua had been involved in many prominent projects across China, including the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Expo 2010 Shanghai, as well as the 14th, 28th and 29th floors in Tower B of China Central TV Headquarters.

Zhong Nanshan, academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering, speaking of the effects of smog on the general population, stated, "The dust concentration per cubic meter of air has increased by 100 micrograms, taking 3 years off the average person's life. PM2.5 is making headlines worldwide."

According to tests undertaken by the Inspection Center of the China National Interior Decoration Association, Bihua's nano photocatalyst air purification products can reduce indoor formaldehyde pollution by 95% within 24 hours. The results of monitoring by the State Key Laboratory of Environmental Criteria and Risk Assessment at the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences says the number of suspended bacteria that remained in the air purified by Bihua's products were less than the number required under national standards. Testing by the Beijing Disease Control Center confirmed that no dermatological irritation was observed following direct skin contact with the product. Moreover, Bihua president Kong Jun personally consumed the air purification product to demonstrate and prove the product's non-toxic qualities and level of safety even when ingested orally.

The Bihua president said, "The nano photocatalyst technology is one that is all natural and non-toxic. We expect to see a wide range of applications in terms of how the product can promote better health among the general population as well as healthier living spaces for all."
