Providing a total solution which includes hardware and software, ViewSonic Pen Display Division has been continuously advancing new software as part of the signature authentication process. Since joining the Electronic Signature and Records Association (ESRA) in 2015, ViewSonic gained valuable insights regarding e-signature regulations by utilizing ESRA's experiences and applied to ViewSonic's authentication solutions.
Electronic signatures are becoming increasingly popular with businesses as they replace traditional pen on paper documents. ViewSonic's pen display division specializes in manufacturing signature capturing devices that record e-signatures, encrypt them into biometric data, and store these files in secure servers or cloud systems. Their newest signature verification software is able to authenticate each signature by analyzing the shape, velocity, pen pressure, and time. "A signature is unique to each individual and cannot be replicated by static verification tools, fingerprints or PINs. By looking at these four sectors of a signature, you will find that each electronic signature is unique to each person, and is impossible to replicate, making it more secure than conventional verifications," says George Lee, General Manager of the Pen Display Division.
ViewSonic's new signature verification software is suitable for the banking and finance sector, that are beginning to adopt a paperless approach by digitizing bank transactions. By using ViewSonic's signature verification system, every time a customer provides their signature at the front desk, the back end server is able to compare it to a reference signature on file to authenticate the signature. This improves the overall accuracy of the verification process compared to human verification which may result in a lot of errors.
