XUZHOU, China, Dec. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The third season of the acclaimed XCMG Apprentice Program ("the Program") has welcomed five international apprentices to participate in a "One Week CEO" project, where they experience XCMG from the perspective of CEO at XCMG's headquarters in Xuzhou, China.

The five apprentices, hailing from the U.S., Poland, Russia, Malaysia and Algeria, were selected from more than 20,000 applicants from 58 countries and regions, a significant increase from the first two seasons.

"This one-week Program has allowed the apprentices to experience the entire range of XCMG's offerings and practices, from marketing our intelligently manufactured, high-end products to international clients to managing a world-class global R&D program, all from the businessman's perspective," noted Liu Jiansen, Assistant President of XCMG and General Manager of XCMG Import & Export Co. Ltd. "We believe that these five 'future CEOs' have gained a lot of knowledge and inspiration after experiencing XCMG's high-end manufacturing, innovative technology and entrepreneurial spirit firsthand."

With a special emphasis on leadership and professional development, the Program provided the apprentices an opportunity to gain insight into daily operations at XCMG. They participated in simulated international marketing negotiations under the theme of "Belt and Road" Initiative, as well as exchanged ideas on topics including global research and development (R&D) integration and intelligent manufacturing (IM) transformation with Wang Min, Chairman and President of XCMG, along with eight CEOs from XCMG and XCMG subsidiary companies.

The apprentices also visited the world's largest combined factory building in the construction machinery industry and Asia's largest vibration and noise lab. They also got the chance to operate construction equipment, including China's largest-tonnage loader, the LW1200K, and learned how to operate 3D printers in the R&D center.

Launched in January 2016, the Program was created to offer global apprentices the opportunity to learn about XCMG, its innovative technologies and global influence while fostering international exchange and promoting Chinese culture in the construction machinery industry.
