BEIJING, June 29, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- JA Solar and solar project developer, Solatio, signed two cooperation agreements on June 14 at Intersolar Europe 2023 held at Messe München, Germany. Solatio's CEO Pedro Vaquer Brunet, CFO Antonio Rodriguez Alfageme, COO Fernando Peral Gutierrez, and JA Solar's Chairman Jin Baofang attended the signing ceremony. Mr. Vaquer Brunet and JA Solar's Vice President Tony Zhu respectively signed the contract on behalf of both parties.
One agreement stipulated that JA Solar will cooperate with Solatio to supply 1.2GW photovoltaic modules for PV power stations in Cassilandia, Paranaiba, and Mato Grosso do Sul in Brazil. In another agreement, JA Solar agreed to a strategic partnership with Solatio to supply 4GW PV modules for seven Brazilian projects in the coming years.
Solatio is one of the largest PV power plant developers in Brazil and the signing of the two cooperation agreements marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration between the two parties. The two sides tend to work together to promote the development of the Brazilian photovoltaic industry to help achieve the goal of carbon neutrality in Brazil.
JA Solar entered the Brazilian market in 2015 and established a branch there in 2017. In 2021 and 2022, its shipment volume to Brazil increased by 225% and 181% year-on-year respectively, far exceeding market growth level during the same period. And the company successfully supplied modules for numerous innovative PV projects in the country, such as the distributed PV project in Brazil's Mirassol Football Club training center and the Amazon River "ship factory" that are powered by PV systems, which lead the local market in innovative application of solar PV.
