KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Jan. 22, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Maszlee Malik, Minister of Education Malaysia, is visiting The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) this 24th January as part of his working visit to London. The visit is accompanied by Dato Abdul Rahman Mohamed Shariff, Chairman of Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).
The visit is part of the effort to strengthen bilateral relationship between Malaysia and the United Kingdom in the field of engineering and manufacturing.
Professor Keith Ridgway, Executive Dean and Director of AMRC said in his statement, "It was a pleasure and honour to welcome Dr. Maszlee to the centre. We're especially delighted that he has asked to make a visit to our training centre a highlight of his tour," he said.
"The centre had trained more than 1,300 apprentices since it opened four years ago. Adding that AMRC had much to learn from fast growing Southeast Asian economies and their willingness to think big, take risks and build on their strengths in manufacturing." He added. "The partnership between AMRC and a dynamic economy such as Malaysia can only be to our mutual benefit," said Ridgway.
In the visit, Dr Maszlee is expected to meet talented graduate engineers of AMRC who are pushing the boundaries of the possible for AMRC's partners such as Rolls-Royce, Mc Laren, BAE Systems and Boeing.
