ICC Wins Quality Excellence Award
HONG KONG, June 12, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Grand Award Winners, Merit Winners and Finalists of Quality Building Award ("QBA") 2012 were announced at the QBA2012 Award Presentation Ceremony held on 8th June 2012 (last Friday).
The event took place at JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong, special guests and VIPs presence included: Mrs. LAM CHENG Yuet Ngor, Carrie, JP, Secretary for Development of the Development Bureau, HKSAR Government to be the Guest of Honour, Ir Dr. Hon. HO Chung Tai, Raymond, SBS, S.B.St., JP, Legislative Council Member (Engineering Functional Constituency), HKSAR Government and Prof. Hon. LAU Sau Shing, Patrick, SBS, JP, Legislative Council Member (Architectural, Surveying and Planning Functional Constituency), HKSAR Government.

Under the theme of "Building Excellence for the future", QBA2012 had received overwhelming participations and nominations from each industry. QBA2012 has especially set up Quality Excellence Award, to reward the best project among all Grand Awards. The Winner of Quality Excellence Award represents the most outstanding building in both innovative and architectural aspects. This year, QBA2012 has divided "Hong Kong Residential Category" into Single and Multiple Buildings and "Hong Kong Non-Residential Category" into New Building and Renovation / Revitalization of Existing Building. Upon the positive response from overseas projects in the last episode, QBA2012 has split the "Project Outside Hong Kong Category" into Residential and Non-Residential. These modifications have been made after careful examination and thorough discussion, in hoping to best upload the objectivity and fairness of the Award.

Quality Building Award (QBA) was Founded in 2001 by seven building and construction related associations in Hong Kong. It is a biennial award giving public recognition to buildings of outstanding quality that have demonstrated excellent teamwork. The provision of quality building is an essential ingredient of a prosperous and modern society, and thus the Quality Building Award aims to promote a collective commitment by the building industry to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and competitiveness.
