CHENGDU, China, June 2, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Chengdu Tianfu Software Park, the largest professional software park in China, co-organized with Chengdu HI-tech Zone, held a medium and high-end talent recruitment fair in Beijing. Over 500 screened candidates cannot wait to go looking for development opportunities in the core city of western China, Chengdu. "I will not only investigate the individual employment situation in Chengdu, but also want to bring my venture team to the city," said Mr. Lai Yangjian. He believes that in terms of talent reserve and industrial environment, his team can get better development opportunities in Chengdu than in Beijing.

Chengdu was rated by Forbes Magazine as one of the world's fastest-growing cities in the next decade, and named as the top investment destination in China by the American Chamber of Commerce from 2008 to 2010. Chengdu attaches great importance to developing the software and IT services industry. It seizes the opportunity of domestic and international industrial transfer after the global financial crisis, making the annual growth rate of its software and IT services industry reach more than 35% for 5 years in a row.

A large number of leading companies such as IBM, Ericsson, Siemens, Intel, Dell and EMC, have settled in Chengdu. Local IT companies also develop explosively. At present, near 200 Global Fortune 500s have presence in the city, 11 of the world's 20 best software enterprises have already settled here. "The reverse brain drain has the following reasons. First, local talents have re-recognized the development potential of the western region. Second, the high tempo, high pressure and high cost of living in first-tier cities, such as Beijing and Shanghai, also make more and more talents flow from the first-tier cities to second-tier cities like Chengdu," said an expert. He believes that in 2011, Chengdu will be the preferential destination for all kinds of talents flowing to the western region.

From May to August, such Recruitment fairs will be held in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dalian and other large coastal cities to provide medium and high-end IT talents a platform to seek jobs and development opportunities in Chengdu. More than 100 companies, including Maersk, Ericsson, GE, TCL and ASM, will participate in the recruitment activities. It is expected that the recruitment activities will provide 1,500 positions and more than 6,000 jobs to jobseekers.
