GBA 2012 has received a total of 84 nominations from 7 major cities in Asia Pacific region, including Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, and other Asia Pacific countries involving Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan and Singapore. This represents a 50% increase in the overall nomination rate from 2010. Nominations received for GBA 2012 covered a wide range of projects and all conveyed strong sustainability initiatives.
