Run in conjunction with CeMAT ASIA, Logistics & ICT Asia continues its professional operation and focuses on the discussion of information technology in China's logistics industry. Business leaders such as LI Guangxiao, general manger of Supply Chain Development & Consultancy, North Asia Maersk Logistics; Jens DREWES, managing director of central & north China; Gideon ONG, vice president of Logistics, Asia Pacific Bayer MaterialScience; Denny YANG, head of Supply Chain Management Metro Jinjiang Cash & Carry Co., Ltd; Frank MAO, industry principal of Transportation & Logistics, SAP North Asia; and WANG Yizhong, vice president of Shanghai Boke Information Technology Co., Ltd, all delivered a series of speeches on the themes, "The Challenge of Optimizing Logistics Cost and Improving Profits in the Current Financial Situation"; "Achieving Cold Chain Quality -- Guaranteeing Safety through Advanced Information and Communication"; and, "Ensuring Safety and Environment Protection for Chemical and Hazardous Production Logistics with Information and Communication Technologies," which provided a deep insight into the future development of logistics communication technology.

In the beginning of this year, the State Council executive meeting examined and approved in principle the adjustment and revitalization plan for the logistics industry. The plan pointed out many times the necessity of raising the informatization level of logistics in order to perfect and promote new technology. The establishment of this positive policy shows the important role of the logistics industry in the national economy and also brings more opportunities to the logistics communication technology market. Organizers believe the summit will build a platform for enterprises to exchange ideas and carry out business, and it will also make a contribution to the development of the logistics communication technology industry.

Logistics & ICT Asia 2009 is organized by Hannover Milano Fairs Ltd. - Shanghai and is supported in great part by organizations in China and abroad, like the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flows and Logistics, which fully demonstrates the summit's superior influence and huge potential in the professional field.
