Singapore Start-Up Won Two Winner Awards at APICTA 2013

Team Singapore Received 2 Winner Awards and 1 Merit Awards

SINGAPORE, Nov. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- 9 ICM (Information, Communications and Media) Organisations represented Singapore to compete in the 13th Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards, which took place in Hong Kong from 25 to 27 November 2013.

This year, 2 new economies, mainland China and Taiwan, joined APICTA 2013, which made the total participated economies to 13. More than 220 nominations were received. The increased in number of economies participation showed that the standard and quantity of innovations development in the region had improved. Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) led a team of Singapore organisations to compete in the award in 7 categories -- Application Tools and Platforms, e-Learning, Government and Public Sector, Media and Entertainment Technology, Research and Development, Start-Up and Tertiary Student Project. The submitted nominations from Singapore were selected from the finalists and winners of SiTF Awards 2013 -- an Award to recognize innovative ICM Applications/ Solutions which are developed in Singapore.

Nanoveu Pte Ltd, SiTF Awards 2013 the Judges' Choice Award Winner and also Gold Winner for Emerging Technology and Start-Up Categories, did Singapore proud by winning the Winner Award for the Media and Entertainment Technology, and Start-up Categories in APICTA 2013. This victory reaffirmed their innovative product - EyeFly3D, a thin flexible screen protector which, when affixed to a high resolution mobile display turns a 2D device into a glasses-free 3D viewing platform.

Besides Nanoveu, Housing Development Board (HDB) won the Merit award with their SE CAD under the Government and Public Sector category. SE CAD is a robust structural engineering software that serves as a one-stop solution for seamless integration of high-rise building analysis and design while achieving higher productivity through automation of drawings production. This solution has been recognised by the judges for their data sharing between public and private sectors.

The APICTA Awards results were announced during Awards Presentation Ceremony cum Gala Dinner held in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 27 November. The occasion was graced by Mrs Carrie Lam, Acting Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR.
