Mr. Khoo Teng Chye, Executive Director of the Centre for Liveable Cities to officiate the conference

SINGAPORE, March 28, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Over 500 of the world's leading experts in corporate real estate are gathered in Singapore today for professional updates and discussions on how the volatile global economic climate is impacting the corporate real estate (CRE) market in Asia.

CoreNet Global, now in its tenth year, is hosting the summit in Singapore for the third time. The conference is the region's highest level gathering of commercial, corporate, institutional and government real estate professionals.

With unpredictable business conditions continuing to create challenges for the CRE sector, this year's event entitled "Re-imagine, Re-orient, Re-ignite and Re-invent," will offer participants an opportunity to gain clarity on recent industry developments and how they can establish strategies to weather economic uncertainties and position themselves for the future.

Discussions will be led by a panel of more than 80 speakers representing CRE leaders from organizations including the ANZ Banking Group, Bank of New Zealand, Barclays Capital, Chevron, Cisco Systems, Coca-Cola, GlaxoSmithKline, General Motors, IBM, Macquarie, Microsoft, the New Zealand Government, Oracle, Shell, Standard Chartered Bank, Telstra, Unilever and Zurich Financial Services.

There will also be an inaugural address by Mr. Khoo Teng Chye, Executive Director for the Centre for Liveable Cities, with further highlights including keynote presentations by Mr. Jonathan Pain, Director of JP Consulting NSW Pty Limited, and Mr. Mike Walsh, Founder and CEO of consumer innovation research lab Tomorrow.

Commenting on this year's summit, CoreNet Global's Chief Executive Officer Ms. Angela Cain notes that delegates will benefit from insight on a wide range of issues affecting the region's CRE industry from business continuity planning to disaster resilience, talent management, green strategies and smart buildings.

The summit will also provide an opportunity for attendees to contribute to CoreNet Global's Corporate Real Estate 2020 transformational research which aims to explore how the industry, workplace and profession will evolve and change by the year 2020.

"Today's volatile global economy is one of the biggest issues now impacting corporations and their real estate teams," says Ms. Cain. "Considering the complexities we face every day, we all need a clearer understanding of the fast changing dynamics that will determine success or failure.

"Our summit programme is a powerful way to harness the knowledge, trends, innovations, best practices and most importantly the people and contacts we need in order to thrive against a backdrop of economic, financial, technological, demographic, social and environmental change."

The event, which is supported by industry groups Reed MIDEM, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce, as well as media partners The Leader, RFP Magazine and Asia Property is taking place at The Ritz Carlton, Millenia Singapore.
