The 18th China Yiwu International Commodities Fair to Open on Oct. 21

YIWU, China, October 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The 18th China Yiwu International Commodities Fair ("Yiwu Fair") will be held from October 21 to 25 in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province.

Yiwu Fair is an international consumer goods fair approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China and jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, etc. With a total of 6,000 international standard booths, the 18th Yiwu Fair includes a machinery industry exhibition that will run concurrently. This Yiwu Fair has set up exhibition venues for ten industries, including hardware, electronic products & electrical appliances, arts & crafts, stationery & office supplies, sporting & leisure goods, cases & leather products, articles for daily use, ornaments & accessories, knitwear & textile products and toys & children's goods. It is expected that this fair will attract over 170,000 purchasers, with overseas buyers and trade groups exceeding 20,000 and 80 respectively.

Yiwu, the host city of the 18th Yiwu Fair, is an emerging trade and exhibition city with a strong appeal in Zhejiang Province. Yiwu lies in central Zhejiang Province, about 300 kilometers away from Shanghai, China's largest city. There are eight flights every week between Yiwu and Hong Kong and over 20 flights every day between Yiwu and Guangzhou during the fair. Yiwu boasts the globally largest wholesale market of commodities. With a customer flow of over 200,000 a day and over 13,000 resident foreign merchants, Yiwu market has ranked the first for 21 years in a row among all specialized markets throughout the country in terms of business volume. During the fair, 70,000 business booths in Yiwu market, along with 6,000 exhibition booths of the fair, will jointly exhibit a total of over 1.7 million kinds of commodities.
