"Technologies from Science Park" Programme Accelerates Adoption of Home-grown Technological Innovations by Leading Business Entities

HONG KONG, Nov. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation ('HKSTP') today announced that its strategic initiative "Technologies from Science Park" programme has received celebrative responses from leading business entities in Hong Kong since its launch in March this year. As of today, over 12 major business groups in Hong Kong including some blue-chip conglomerates such as Airport Authority Hong Kong, CLP Power Hong Kong Limited, Computer And Technologies Holdings Limited, Hang Lung Properties Limited, The Hong Kong Jockey Club, MTR, Sino Group and others, more than 250 company members from Federation of Hong Kong Industries ('FHKI') and a handful of industrial associations including Hong Kong Plastics Manufacturers Association have met with over 130 technology companies from Hong Kong Science Park to identify locally-grown solutions which will enhance all aspects of business efficiency.

 

Propel innovation-based economic growth

The "Technologies from Science Park" programme aims to accelerate innovation-based economic growth in Hong Kong through facilitating leading local enterprises to adopt home grown technologies and enabling local innovators to understand the hot trends and business challenges in respective industries. Under this programme, HKSTP has arranged business sharings and product demonstration sessions, as well as one-on-one business matching for enterprises and the technology companies at Science Park.

For market-driven business entities, they enjoy efficiency in time and R&D investment if they acquire new inventions from external technology originators and capitalise on the imaginative power of a dynamic talent pool which strives to excel. Over the years, HKSTP has nurtured hundreds of technology start-ups with a lot of award-winning products and solutions, and also attracted many sophisticated technology companies to join Science Park. With over 550 technology providers at the Park, there is a vast portfolio of quality technologies and solutions that can be readily adopted by local companies from various areas including transport, energy and utility, retail operation, property management and different industry sectors.
