Governor Brown is a legend in American politics, having been elected variously as California Secretary of State and Attorney General, Governor and Mayor of Oakland over the course of his 40-year career. In addition to a life of public service, Governor Brown has worked alongside Mother Theresa in India and founded multiple educational institutions.

Governor Brown's delegation—which included senior representatives of Fortune 500-listed companies alongside the founders and board members of cutting-edge Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)—will depart China after completing a whirlwind fact-finding and investment tour.

"I have had the pleasure of following Governor Brown's career for a long time," said Peace through Commerce Medal-winner and AmCham South China President Harley Seyedin. "The Governor's dedication to public service and the common good is truly inspirational. We are thrilled to welcome him and his delegation here in Guangzhou."

At the breakfast reception, which saw the Grand Hyatt hotel's ballroom packed by AmCham South China members eager to greet the Californian delegation, Governor Brown offered brief remarks after being introduced by U.S. Consul General in Guangzhou Jennifer Zimdahl Galt and Mr. Seyedin.
