NANJING, China, Dec. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Karl Qiu, President of WorleyParsons China, invited and accompanied Australia's Ambassador to China, Her Excellency Frances Adamson, and delegates from Austrade and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) on a visit to WorleyParsons' Nanjing Celanese Project Site.
WorleyParsons China started its co-operation with Celanese 8 years ago, in 2004, and has successfully executed many projects during that period, including several in the Nanjing Chemical Industry Park (NCIP) and overseas projects in Germany, Saudi Arabia and the USA.
The Celanese Nanjing Integrated Chemical Complex is located in NCIP, Jiangsu Province. WorleyParson's is currently working on Celanese's first commercialized industrial ethanol unit which applies TCX® Technology to use basic hydrocarbons, including natural gas and coal feedstocks, to produce high-quality, low-cost ethanol.
In addition to the construction site visit, Madame Ambassador's agenda also included a WorleyParsons China update conducted by Karl Qiu and a meeting with Celanese representatives on site, headed by Paul Kidwell, Asia Manufacturing Director of Celanese. During her visit, Mme. Ambassador commended WorleyParsons' strong customer focus, was impressed by WorleyParsons' HSE culture and site management. Mme. Ambassador expressed strong support for WorleyParsons' long-term development in China and commented, "I have had the opportunity to visit many project sites worldwide, but this is the first time I have seen such a kind of collaborative partnership as that which exists between WorleyParsons and Celanese."
On behalf of WorleyParsons China, Karl Qiu expressed his appreciation for Mme. Ambassador's visit and also the prospect of developing new customer relationships with Chinese state owned enterprises and Foreign Customers with her valued support and Austrade's business network. In addition, on Dec 5th, Karl Qiu attended the breakfast meeting with Mr. Lu Bing, Deputy Mayor of Nanjing Municipal and Mr. Zhu Bin, General Manager of Nanjing Metro Group at the invitation of Mme. Ambassador and briefly introduced our work on the Nanjing Metro Project Line 2, such as the risk management on construction and local authority coordination.
