Esprit Will Utilize Mood Media's Proprietary Technology Throughout its Retail Stores in Mainland China

TORONTO, July 24, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Mood Media, parent company of Muzak and DMX and the world's leading in-store media solutions provider, today announced that it will further expand its presence in the Chinese market through a new agreement with Esprit. Starting in July, Mood Media will provide Esprit stores in Mainland China with a custom music program, via its IP based media player.

This is the latest expansion for Mood Media who creates sensorial experiences by integrating music, visual and scent media to drive point-of-purchase sales for customers in currently 40 countries throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

"The partnership with Esprit is a real opportunity for Mood Media to demonstrate to the Chinese marketplace the positive impact that our innovative in-store media solutions can have on the customer experience and ultimately their brand loyalty," said Lorne Abony, Mood Media CEO and Chairman. "We know the potential for growth in China is enormous and we're excited to establish Mood Media's presence in the country."

When selecting an in-store music provider for its retail locations in China, Esprit required a PCI compliant provider with a China Compulsory Certificate that could deliver the latest in-store solutions, along with strong technical support.

"We had a list of demands to meet for our retail stores in China, and Mood Media far exceeded our criteria," said Holly Li, CEO, Esprit China. "Mood Media has the expertise, technology and global support team Esprit needs as we expand our business in China."

Upgrading Esprit's current CD player system to Mood Media's Internet-based solution will help Esprit dramatically improve the efficiency of its music program in China. Esprit will now be able to instantly refresh its playlists—a process in the past that could take several weeks to months by sending CD updates through the mail from Esprit's headquarters in Germany to China.

"At the touch of a button we can now make changes to our playlists and update content," said Li. "The solution is saving us time, while also providing us with access to one of the most expansive music libraries in the world."

Mood Media's local office in Hong Kong will oversee the installation of the audio systems and will provide toll-free support in Mandarin to all Esprit stores in China if needed.
