Specialized Green Business Exhibition 'Energy Korea 2013' kicked off

- The First Joint Exhibition of 4 Energy Related Organizations in Korea was Held

SEOUL, South Korea, Oct. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- 'Energy Korea 2013' was held in COEX on the 16th and was hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy(MOTIE) and organized by Energy Management Cooperation, Korea Smart Grid Association, Korea Battery Industry Association, and COEX.

The exhibition ran from the 16th to the 19th for four days. At the opening ceremony, there were many representatives including director Jun-dong Kim of MOTIE, executive director Jong-rip Byun of Energy Management Cooperation, president Ja-gyun Koo of Korea Smart Grid Association, president Sang-jin Park of Korea Battery Industry Association, and others from energy related areas such as energy efficiency, bio-energy, smart grid & cell industries.

Particularly, since 4 exhibitions (Korea Energy Show, Renewable Energy Korea, Smart Grid Expo, InterBattery) were individually held in different areas so far, the joint exhibition has enhanced its position as the No.1 energy exhibition in Korea.

For Korea barely overcame the crisis of power supply, thriftiness of citizens especially dragged attentions on saving energy more than ever. This joint exhibition covering efficient devices, renewable energy utilities, smart grid & energy saving system all together, would be a good example of synergy creation and convergence between energy industries.

'Energy Korea 2013' consisted of 'Korea Energy Show' focused on energy efficiency and 'Renewable Energy Korea'; and 'Korea Smart Grid Expo' on intelligent power grid technology and 'InterBattery' on secondary battery. Around 270 companies participated in the exhibition including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, POSCO Energy, Samsung SDI and LSIS. They showcased latest products, facilities and R&D results with 900 booths, providing the most recent information.

At 'Korea Energy Show', useful products in terms of efficiency and in thrifty living were attracting attentions. KyungDong Navien displayed micro-boiler which generates electricity and at the same time, provides hot water so that users can reduce amount of energy. LG Electronics unveiled air conditioner driven by gas-engine, which was developed entirely with domestic technology, achieving excellent efficiency.

Renewable Every Korea compactly showed off facilities, components, and products of various sources such as solar light and wind power. Hanwha Solarone unveiled corrosion resistant next-generation PV module resistant to salt, snow, wind, and Samsung Indus exhibited Roof Integrated Photovoltaic System, currently exported to Japan.

Korea Smart Grid Expo showed the trends of smart grid industry with latest products and facilities relating to construction of Smart Grid. SONGAM SYSCOM displayed modem tools which is easily formed smart grid network without a separate converting device. eZEX submitted gateway which can remotely control a Smart Grid device on smart phone.

InterBattery displayed products and components related to battery industry so that the business trend of the current industry can be seen. MisumSystech exhibited Battery Pack for ESS, and Soulbrain showed off a functional electrolyte which improves life span of battery & functions.

In addition, it provided visitors with exciting spectacles in various theme places such as overseas countries zone, building energy zone, and electric car zone, as well as export consultation, seminar, awards show and other events.
