Daiwa House to Participate as Strategic Partner in the TOMODACHI Initiative, Japan-U.S. Exchange Project

Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd. will participate as a Strategic Partner* in the TOMODACHI Initiative, a public-private partnership led by the United States Embassy in Tokyo and the U.S.-Japan Council, and supported by the Government of Japan, corporations, organizations and individuals in the United States and Japan. Daiwa House will donate a total of $1 million over a three-year period to this initiative.

The TOMODACHI Initiative is a partnership, born out of support for Japan's recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake, that invests in the next generation of Japanese and American leaders through education and cultural exchanges as well as leadership programs.

The vision of this partnership is to foster a "TOMODACHI Generation" of young American and Japanese leaders who are committed to and engaged in strengthening U.S.-Japan relations, appreciate each other's countries and cultures, and possess the global skills and mindsets needed to contribute to and thrive in a more cooperative, prosperous, and secure world.

Daiwa House approves of this vision, and as part of its social contribution activities, it will participate as a Strategic Partner, the highest level of this partnership, and donate a total of $1 million over a three-year period through 2016. Daiwa House will continue to contribute to invigorating exchanges of young Japanese and Americans and fostering the next generation of leaders.
