CHENGDU, China, Oct. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The 16th Western China International Fair (WCIF) will be held in Chengdu, the provincial capital of Sichuan Province from November 3-14, 2016. Until now, it has been confirmed that guests from 88 countries (regions) will attend this WCIF and 16 countries will set up national halls, which is an event record.
Themed "Western China · World Opportunity", the WCIF will hold 10 important campaigns and 60 special activities. Germany will be the guest of honor nation, Guizhou Province will serve as the presidency unit and Suining City of Sichuan Province will debut as the theme city.
This WCIF will highlight the elements of "The Belt and Road". 3 "The Belt and Road" halls and 1 "The Belt and Road" and International Cooperation Hall will be specifically set up, and 27 countries along "The Belt and Road" have confirmed their attendance at the fair. The theme of the opening ceremony and Western China International Cooperation Forum will be changed to "Building the Belt and Road Jointly and Realizing Win-win Results in the Future", and "The Belt and Road"-related special activities will be held.
The activities at the fair are aimed at procuring actual results. In this WCIF, contracts for major projects will be signed. Cities and autonomous prefectures of Sichuan Province will hold investment promotional activities according to their individual situations. At the Purchasers Conference, nearly 30 activities including Western Public Purchasing Meeting and over 40 special matchmaking meetings will be held. Activities relating to emergency response, general aviation, smart vehicles, E-commerce, flat panel display (FPD) and intelligent manufacturing will all be held while Sino-German Industrial 4.0 Forum will focus on industrial development.
The Western China Cross-Border Purchasing Conference (hereinafter referred to as the Conference) is a highlight of the WCIF activities. As an important activity, the Conference will promote the integration of WCIF into the development plan of "The Belt and Road" and act as a platform for communication and cooperation among the countries along "The Belt and Road". The Conference has obtained great support from all sectors in society and it will be held at Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center/ Chengdu Century City International Conference Center from November 3-14, 2016.
