From 22 September to 30 November, Link offers a curated exploration of the finest natural landscapes in Hong Kong with the theme "Adventure Unleashed". The initiative introduces two scenic trekking trails and two cycling routes.
Broadening the scope of Tuen Mun Adventure, this year's expanded edition also encompasses the allure of Yuen Long and Tung Chung. Thoughtfully crafted routes intersect with significant cultural landmarks, and additional please retreats at Long Ping Plaza, Fu Tung Plaza and Yat Tung Shopping Centre in these destinations, unveiling their hidden gems while promoting a deeper connection with nature. While maintaining the perennial appeal of hiking and cycling, this year's addition of a self-driving component adds a new dimension to the adventure. The initiative aims to align participants with nature's rhythm, creating memorable moments with every step. A standout feature this year is the "two days and one night (2D1N) Car Camping Day", offering participants a platform to immerse in diverse, exhilarating activities that present nature in a refreshing new perspective.
Tuen Mun Adventure's two new trekking trails and two new cycling routes are designed by the mountain aficionados CC Wandering and ABCat – both well-known YouTubers. These trails and routes span the expanse from Tuen Mun to Yuen Long and Tung Chung. Starting from Fu Tung Plaza, the first stop takes you to Ma Wan Chung Village and Ma Wan Chung Pier, both echoing over 1,000 years of history. Experience the traditional vibes of the fishing village and enjoy the shimmering seascape from the pier while taking in the leisurely ambiance of Tung Chung. Continue biking to the Hau Wong Bridge, where the landscape unfolds with a vast canvas of mangroves and mudflats. Adjacent, the revered Hau Wong Temple, a Grade II historic landmark in Hong Kong, stands as a testament to the area's rich heritage. Push forward to Tung Chung Fort, an iconic monument from the Qing Dynasty, brimming with historical significance. For those seeking a quick break or a snack, Yat Tung Shopping Centre awaits nearby. Embark on a scenic ride to uncover Hong Kong's distinctive landscapes. Setting out from Butterfly Plaza, choose between the tranquil Tuen Mun Trail or the picturesque path from Fu Tei to Lam Tei Reservoir. This serene route promises a visual feast with panoramic views from the reservoir's dam. Recharge at Leung King Plaza before riding towards Yuen Long, heading to Fung Lok Wai. Fondly known as Hong Kong's "Mirror of the Sky", the locale also offers an invigorating climb up Ah Kai Mountain. From its peak, gaze upon the fish ponds of Fung Lok Wai and the stunning vistas of Nam Sang Wai Reservoir. Starting from Fu Tung Plaza in Tung Chung, cycle to the Tung Chung Fort, a Grade II historical building. This serene location is perfect for a photo opportunity or to simply take a break. Then continue along the Tung O Ancient Trail, visiting Hau Wong Temple and passing Hau Wong Bridge, mangroves, winding trails and Suet Sum Pavilion before eventually reaching the bamboo-filled Shan Tau Village, filled with a nostalgic atmosphere. After a rest, return from the village to Tung Chung's old pier to admire the coastal views. Lastly, make a stop at Yat Tung Shopping Centre to refuel and then ascend the mountain to watch the sunset.
