SHANGHAI, Aug. 16 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- As a part of the Digital Youth Award (DYA) Program in August, gamers representing China, Sweden and Singapore, will gather together at the Innovation Stage from the 15-16 August for an international digital sport friendly match. On the occasion, Dan Che, winner of the China qualifier, will lead his team ”KungFu” and compete with young gamers from Sweden and Singapore. Sweden has always been strong in digital sports and played an important part in its development as an international sport. DreamHack, the world’s biggest LanParty program, is supported by the Swedish governments at all levels. The minister of education showed up in person during the event to encourage young people to participate in all forms of digital entertainment including games so as to learn about and participate in technology development. In Sweden, digital sports is regarded as a new form of entertainment that enables the young to know more about technology and foster team spirit.
Produced by The CPL and DreamHack, the Digital Youth Award (DYA) Program at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai is a unique project created to promote and strengthen youth cultural exchange, friendship and education via various forms of digital entertainment. This year, there are 6 countries participating in the program.
From 7-8 August, the HoN winner of the Chinese qualifier at the Swedish Pavilion was awarded by the Swedish Committee honours and air tickets. In September, as a long- term cultural exchange program, DreamHack and the Digital Youth Award (DYA) will come back to the Innovation Stage.
