SHANGHAI, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The Swedish Pavilion will witnesss the awards ceremony of the ‘City and nature’ global photo contest on 16th of September.  Ms. Annika Rembe, Commissioner General for the Swedish Expo 2010 Committee, and the well-known Swedish photographer Mattias Klum, will together unveil the final winners and their photos. Five of the winners have the chance to take part in a photo workshop with Mattias Klum, where one assignment will be to document the Swedish Pavilion.

This ‘City and nature’ photo contest is held by Sweco, designers of the Swedish Pavilion and Tierra Grande created by Mattias Klum. 1,046 photos from around the world have been collected for the contest. During the day, photography lovers have the opportunity to discuss City & Nature with Mattias Klum and take part in a photo workshop, where one assignment will be to document the Swedish Pavilion. Selected contest entries and pictures from the photo workshop will be exhibited at the Museum of Architecture in Stockholm during November.

The Swedish Pavilion, designed by Sweco, embodies 3 key factors of the spirit of innovation: Creativity, communication and sustainability. The structure of the Swedish Pavilion underlines the theme of sustainable development. The sustainable society demands creative solutions that allow cities, nature and people to grow in harmony with each other. The design of the Swedish Pavilion provides a great example. The outer facade represents the city — it is made of perforated metal in a pattern that resembles a map of downtown Stockholm. The inner facade is decorated with scenes from Sweden’s nature.
