Two grand Industrial Events on one stage

SHANGHAI, China, Oct. 28 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- PTC ASIA 2008 and CeMAT ASIA 2008 grandly kicked off at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Over 350 distinguished guests from home and abroad were present on the opening ceremony held at 9:30 am. Mr. Cui Zhongfu, vice chairperson and secretary general of China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, Mr. Liu Yuanjie, chairman of China General Machine Components Industry Association, and Dr. Andreas Gruchow, member of the board at Deutsche Messe delivered opening speeches.

This year the two exhibitions together prove themselves again a magnet of a large scale of world giants in the industrial field -- with 1,700 exhibitors' participation on the 80,000 sq m display area, expecting over 60,000 trade visitors from around the world who will get an eye full of the latest technologies and products directly related to power transmission and control, compressors, compressed air, vacuum technology, as well as intra-logistics (materials handling and logistics). Germany, Italy, USA, UK, France, Spain, Korea, China and China Taiwan will field their pavilions on-site, showcasing the start-of-the-art technology and products.

PTC ASIA powers on, building a platform for cooperation

As the world's second largest trade fair for power transmission and control, as well as for compressors, compressed air and vacuum technology, PTC ASIA 2008 will attract some 1,300 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions all over the world, covering a total display area of 58,000 sqm. As the Chinese economy increases its investment in infrastructure, the country is quickly becoming a key production base and market for power transmission and control products. Under the coordination of organizers, almost all world top-notched manufacturers specializing in the hydraulic transmission and mechanical transmission fields will participate in the exhibition.

According to Liu Yuanjie, president of China General Machine Components Industry Association, the output value of China's machine components, including gears, springs, fasteners, couplings, transmission chains and metallurgy powder, has increased more than 60 times over the past 30 years since the country started opening up its economy. This sector's promise lends the domestic industry the opportunity to gain market insight and learn from the some of the most advanced Western technologies.

Besides, PTC ASIA also highlights the following aspects: Firstly, the innovation-enriched layout and service of the event have attracted a cluster of famous companies, such as Bosch Rexroth, Eaton, Siemens, etc. Secondly, the show focus will be on energy efficiency and life cycle costs. Thirdly, a rich array of professional activities on-site provide an ideal place for business exchange and cooperation.

CeMAT ASIA sees rapid development in Chinese logistics industry

Statistics from China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing show China's logistics equipment sector is now able to cater to a wide range of logistics services, with an annual growth rate of 30 percent, from transportation equipment including cranes and forklifts, to port and airport facilities. CeMAT ASIA 2008 will feature the cutting-edge technologies and solutions of logistics and its relevant fields, such as materials handling technology and relevant components, warehousing technology and workshop equipment, loading technology, logistics control and software, and logistics service and outsourcing.

In the next four days, some 380 exhibitors will occupy display space of around 10,000 sq m to present their latest products from the intralogistics sector, which brings out fantastic new areas to the visitors. Firstly, the debut of the "Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) Pavilion" consists of a presentation of driverless transport systems. Apart from reliability, a key criterion for deploying these AGV systems involves their flexibility, i.e. how easily can a transport system be adapted to fit changed external conditions. Secondly, another new display involves the "Logistics System Integration Area," a dedicated platform for system providers, project planners and IT enterprises. The systems integration of information and material flows is a precondition for achieving high degrees of efficiency and quality in the logistics chain. Exhibitors will be showcasing their expertise in this area within the framework of a special display and an associated forum.

Professional activities enlighten the two shows

In addition to large scale and encouraging attendance, PTC ASIA 2008 features a rich array of professional activities. The 2008 Annual Forum of International Fasteners Manufacturers Association and The 2008 Annual Forum of China Springs Manufacturers Association will be held and will welcome experts and high-profile officers in this sector. Other activities include the Forum on China Hydraulics Pneumatics & Seals Industry and the Forum on Nuclear Power, Wind Power and Machine Parts Technology. Also, CeMAT ASIA is accompanied by high-class supporting programs. The spotlight at these events will be on special vertical market solutions for the tobacco and food supply chains and automobile industry as well as innovative IT solutions in the logistics sector.

Apart from Deutsche Messe and Hannover Fairs Shanghai Ltd, organizers for the two shows include: China Hydraulics Pneumatics & Seals Association, China General Machine Components Industry Association, China National Bearing Joint Import and Export Corporation for PTC ASIA 2008, China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society for CeMAT ASIA 2008. The two leading events on one stage are sure to tremendously boost the trade in logistics sector in Asia.
