NUO Hotel Beijing deployed its team of world-class culinary professionals, headed by iconic founding chef and Director of Culinary Nikolaos Lekkas, to create a splendid spread of food and drink, from welcome cocktails to the Chelsea Barracks Authored multi-course lunch including NUO Surf and Turf and NUO Light Caramel Mousse with Port Wine poached pears. The occasion, enjoyed by all, helped celebrate superb amateur polo sportsmanship and also highlight the historical ties between China and Great Britain. NUO Hotel Beijing's sponsorship of the event provided exclusive accommodation for BPD's select group of distinguished VIP guests, including members of the nobility and high society, celebrities, business titans, food connoisseurs and luminaries from the worlds of fashion and entertainment.

The tournament, graciously hosted by the owner of Tang Polo Club and China's most esteemed polo player, Shilai Liu, attracted more than 200 distinguished guests, including a host of China business elites. The four competing teams were Tian Tang Axus, BCC Fast Fish, DI and British Polo Day. After a tight battle, The Tian Tang Axus and DI won their respective matches, securing the VistaJet Tang Cup and the Chelsea Barracks Dynasty Plate respectively.

As is the polo tradition, the Best Playing Pony award went to Shilai Liu's gorgeous mare, presented by NUO Hotel Beijing's General Manager Bernhard Wimmer.
