SHANGHAI, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- September 22 Sweden will join the 'Low Carbon Tour', organized by Green Commuting Program. In order to support the concept of 'Low Carbon Expo, Green Commuting', the pavilion will open the Green Access lanes for VIP guests who are wearing the Green Commuting Low Carbon Card.
The VIP guests are from environmental groups, central and municipal governments, multinational companies, schools and communities and the Swedish pavilion will share the Swedish experience and achievements within building a low carbon society. As a part of the 'Low Carbon Expo, Green Commuting' events, Expo Low Carbon Tour is a two-way communication platform between the pavilions and the environmental organizations, strengthening the green expo concept and highlighting each pavilion's achievements within environmental protection.
The keywords of the Swedish pavilion are innovation, communication and sustainable development. 'Low carbon and green commuting' is an essential element of urban sustainable development and an embodiment of the Swedish theme. In the exhibition hall of environmental challenges, five big pictures showcase Swedish solutions to environmental problems. From one angle, the pictures display problematic areas, and from another, the pictures display beautifully restored ecological landscapes that are the result after years of treatment.
Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, has been awarded the 'European Green Capital' of 2010. In Stockholm, 75% of all the waste is recycled. The reutilization of domestic waste is 95% with only 5% of the waste not being reused. The SymbioCity Forum, one of the Swedish pavilion's four major theme forums, has discussed how to live in harmony with the nature. By utilizing the synergies between the various subsystems such as transportation, energy, architecture and waste, we should try to create a comprehensive treatment strategy for the environment.
